Aviation fuel specialist eJet International Ltd has been awarded a consultancy contract to support Avinor, the airport operator at Oslo Airport, in managing change in the aviation fuel supply chain to airlines.
eJet will be working with Avinor to determine the feasibility of an Open Access fuel supply, enabling any suitably-qualified provider to supply fuel to the airlines. If the initiative receives approval eJet will also design the scheme, ready for implementation.
John Pitts, Managing Director of eJet, said: “We are very excited to be working with Avinor on this new project in Oslo. As part of the contract, we will also play a significant role in appointing the operator who will oversee the fuel facilities at Oslo Airport.
“Our contribution will help safeguard the long-term future of the airport, so it is a fantastic project to be involved with.”
Henning Bratebaek, Director of Airside Operation for Avinor at Oslo Airport, said: “Having eJet’s expertise to guide us through this complex transition as we appoint an operator for Oslo’s fuel facilities is invaluable. The proposed Open Access fuel supply, should it prove advantageous for the airport and its users, would in turn offer a more efficient and flexible fuel system.”
The first phase will see eJet work on the pre-feasibility, before moving on to scoping and assisting in the tender process for a new operator.
